Lindsay Lohan 'tested positive for alcohol' following stint in rehab, probation report reveals

Lindsay Lohan has long struggled with sobriety - and now it has emerged that the troubled star tested positive for alcohol after leaving rehab.
The 24-year-old star's probation report says that the actress failed a mandatory test in February and was also drinking on the night she allegedly attacked a Betty Ford Centre employee in December 2010.
The report says Lohan drank alcohol after sneaking out from the Los Angeles Betty Ford Center in December and cites evidence from local police as well as restaurant and nightclub staff from places she visited.
Charges that she assaulted a rehab employee that night however were dropped for lack of evidence.

People magazine quotes the documents as saying: 'The probation officer believes that substance abuse is the root of the defendant's problems.'

However, Judge Stephanie Sautner disagreed with the assessment on Wednesday during a hearing for Lohan's misdemeanor theft case over a stolen $2,500 (£1,527) necklace, for which she received a 120 day prison sentence as well as 480 hours of community service.
Lohan avoided serving time behind bars by pleading no contest to the charges and is instead expected to serve her time in her multimillion dollar home.
